MacKinnon beat Lauridsen

MacKinnon beat LauridsenEurolanche brings you the daily recap of everything important that happened at the World Championship in Belarus involving Avalanche players.

Two Avalanche players were in action today, as Canada’s Nathan MacKinnon and Denmark’s Markus Lauridsen squared off against each other.

The game had a clear-cut favorite in Canada, but the game was relatively tight through 2 periods and had to be decided in the third, in which Team Canada got finally going and scored 4 unanswered goals, thus winning the game 6:1.

Nathan MacKinnon only played 11 minutes and 29 seconds and had a single shot on goal. MacKinnon ended his game with a plus-minus rating of -1, after his bad coverage of an opponent lead to a 2-on-1 play and resulted in Denmark’s only goal.

Markus Lauridsen’s (in the picture on the left – number 22) play let a lot to be desired. The game’s opening goal was scored after he lost the puck on the blue-line and Cody Hodgson had little trouble scoring on the ensuing breakaway. Lauridsen had a total ice time of 5 minutes and 32 seconds and also ended his game with a plus-minus of -1.
