Avalanche signs A.J. Greer

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward AJ Greer to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Greer, 19, was Colorado’s second-round choice (39th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft. He began the 2015-16 season with Boston University before joining the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, where he helped the team win the 2016 President's Cup as Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champions. The Joliette, Quebec, native recorded 27 points (16g/11a) in 33 regular-season games for Rouyn and followed that up with 22 points (12g/10a) in 20 playoff contests. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound left wing had two points (1g/1a) in five games at the Memorial Cup tournament, as the Huskies lost to London in the final.

Greer tallied five points (1g/4a) in 18 games for Boston University this past season. As a freshman at BU in 2014-15, Greer was the youngest forward in the NCAA. He had seven points (3g/4a) in 37 games that first year.
