Avalanche host FlamesThe official game preview Calgary Flames vs Colorado Avalanche.

Season series: Jarome Iginla and Matt Duchene each scored twice to help the Colorado Avalanche to a 6-3 win against the Calgary Flames at Pepsi Center on Nov. 3. Tyson Barrie had three assists and Erik Johnson had a goal and an assist for Colorado. Johnny Gaudreau scored and Karri Ramo made 29 saves in the loss for Calgary Flames.

Flames team scope: Calgary did not practice Friday. The Flames scored one goal in losses against the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings to finish a four-game homestand. Calgary had previously won a franchise-record 11 straight games at home. "The two losses, we knew the last two games we knew that we were against big teams and that they would come in and use their size," Calgary coach Bob Hartley said following a 4-1 loss to Los Angeles on Thursday. "I don't like both results. We don't have much to show for it but unfortunately there's some games like this." Ramo could make his ninth consecutive start for the Flames, who have lost two straight road games.

Avalanche team scope: Iginla, who spent 16 years with the Flames and was captain for nine, is one goal away from 600. He scored 525 goals with Calgary. "Yeah, I think that would be pretty sweet. I think he'd like that," Johnson told the Denver Post of Iginla's opportunity to reach 600 goals against his former team. Iginla is the Flames' franchise leader in games (1,219), goals (525) and points (1,095). Goaltender Semyon Varlamov is expected to start. Barrie, who didn't dress in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday because of flu-like symptoms, is questionable. The Avalanche is in the midst of a stretch in which they play nine of 10 games and 11 of 13 at Pepsi Center.
