Sherman named to new positionGreg Sherman Named Senior Vice President of Business and Team Operations for the Colorado Avalanche.

The Colorado Avalanche have named Greg Sherman their Senior Vice President of Business and Team Operations, President and Governor Josh Kroenke announced today.

“As KSE has evolved as a company, my role and duties within the company have evolved as well,” said Kroenke. “Greg’s role with the Avalanche has changed over the years, but his commitment and passion for the franchise has never wavered with different responsibilities.  He has been an excellent resource to myself specifically over the past several years, and this new promotion reflects my belief in him as my role within KSE continues to evolve.  I look forward to his assistance in creating additional synergy between our Business and Team Operations to help take our organization to another level on and off the ice.  All Hockey Operations remain the same and all Player Personnel inquiries should continue to be directed to Joe Sakic.”

Greg Sherman will continue to assist Kroenke at league meetings as an Alternate Governor and enters his new role with the Avalanche after spending 20 seasons with the company, with each of the last 14 of those in the Avalanche front office. Sherman spent five years as the club’s General Manager (2009-14) before serving as the Vice President of Business Operations/Assistant General Manager this past season. He was raised in Denver and graduated from Cherry Creek High School before attending the University of San Diego in 1992.
