The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team will hold its annual Burgundy/White Game on Sunday, Sept. 21, at Magness Arena on the campus of the University of Denver. Puck drop is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

The Burgundy/White Game is returning to the University of Denver for the first time since 2006. This year will mark the fifth time overall that DU has hosted the event, as the game was also held at Magness Arena in 2002, 2003 and 2005.

The Burgundy/White Game features all Avalanche players competing in a three-period, intra-squad scrimmage. Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to watch a shootout at the end of regulation, regardless of the score.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 10:00 a.m., through DU’s official athletic department website (www.denverpioneers.com). Tickets vary in price from $10-$25. A special pre-sale for Avalanche season tickets holders, partial plan holders, Avs Alert subscribers and fans who follow the Avalanche on the official Avalanche Twitter and Facebook accounts, will run from Monday, Aug. 18 at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 10:00 p.m. Click here to buy tickets.

The Air Force Academy hosted last year’s Burgundy/White Game, the fifth time the event had been held at Cadet Ice Arena (2007-09, 2011, 2013). The first three Burgundy/White contests were played at the World Arena in Colorado Springs (1998-2000), while the 2010 game was held at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo.
