Avs announce Training camp scheduleColorado begins the on-ice portion of camp on Sept. 15

The Colorado Avalanche will hold its 2017 training camp Sept. 14-16, the team announced on Tuesday. 

Colorado opens its 22nd camp with veterans reporting for medical and physical testing on Thursday, Sept. 14. The on-ice portion of camp will take place the following two days, Friday, Sept. 15, and Saturday, Sept. 16, at South Suburban Family Sports Center in Centennial. 

The Avalanche players will be split into two groups, with each participating in separate on-ice trainings each day. The first session at the team's practice facility is from 8:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and the second session takes place from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

All Avs practices at Family Sports Center are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Dates and times are subject to change, and the club will announce its full training camp roster in the near future. 

The club closes its camp with the annual Burgundy/White Game at Magness Arena on the campus of the University of Denver on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m.The Avalanche then opens its preseason slate at Pepsi Center two days later on Tuesday, Sept. 19, against the expansion Vegas Golden Knights at 7 p.m. 

Prior to training camp, Avalanche rookies, prospects and other invitees will take part in the San Jose Sharks Prospect Showcase Sept. 9-12. Colorado's young players will practice at Family Sports Center on Friday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
