Postgame thoughts: Canucks

Postgame thoughts: CanucksNo win, but entertaining nonetheless.

So they couldn't tie the record for the most consecutive shoot out wins... I guess they're going for the record for the most consecutive losses in a regular season. If you're counting, it's up to five now, the last win was on January 21st, against the Kings. This is what I call a dry spell.

In all honesty, the team wasn't so bad against Vancouver. I even saw Stastny with some nice plays, being the set up guy that he usually is. The PK shut down the best PP team in the league and with a little luck they could've won it in regulation. They didn't, TJ's shot was batted down by Bieksa and seconds later the same Bieksa put it in behind a screened Jiggy. How come the Avs are so good at screening their own goalie but can't do the same thing with the opposition? Maybe Sacco should implement a new system (I'm saying "new system" as if he has one now, but never mind that) where the Avs defensemen have to abandon the blue line and stand in front of the other guys' goalie. I mean, it can't be worse than it is now. What could happen? They lose? Nothing new there.

Mueller and Wilson were not in the game. I bet when the fans heard "Mueller is scratched" they thought "concussion". Well, they say it's flu-like symptoms so that's a relief.

Jones's healthy scratch last game paid off as it did last time. Jones came back and scored. If that's what it takes, he should be scratched every other game, that would make him score 41 goals at least. I don't know, I keep finding solutions and nobody notices me...

Landeskog had 9 nine shots in the game, a new franchise rookie record. The thing is, shooting like an insane person with a puck doesn't put goals on the board. Maybe, just maybe he could be more selective... Just sayin'... His shooting percentage is 6.8, even behind Hejda. That being said, he is 5th in goals in this low scoring team, with 11, and first in +-, so he's doing a lot of things right, especially since he's a 20 years old rookie.
