Rampage announce 2016/17 schedule

The San Antonio Rampage will open their 15th American Hockey League season on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at 7 p.m. against the Milwaukee Admirals and will host the Admirals on Sunday, Oct. 16 to close out opening weekend.
The Rampage will play a total of 76 regular season games (38 home, 38 away) with a home schedule that features 30 weekend dates (12 Fridays, 10 Saturdays and 8 Sundays).
Home start times this season for Friday games will be 7:30 p.m., while midweek and Saturday games will begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday games will have a 3 p.m. puck drop.
All 76 of the Rampage’s regular season games will be against teams in the Western Conference, which is made up of two divisions – Central and Pacific. San Antonio will tackle 32 games against the Central Division, taking on each of the division’s teams four times (two home, two away), and 44 games against the Pacific Division.
The Rampage play in-state rival the Texas Stars 14 times (seven home, seven away) and will welcome the Tucson Roadrunners to the schedule, giving them 15 opponents throughout the season. The Silver and Black will play six contests each (three home, three away) against the Ontario Reign, San Jose Barracuda and Roadrunners while squaring off against the rest of their division opponents – San Diego Gulls, Stockton Heat and Bakersfield Condors – four times each (two home, two away). San Antonio’s schedule features three sets of three games in three days and 23 back-to-back contests.
San Antonio will play five of their eight games in October inside the friendly confines of the AT&T Center and will close out the regular season with multiple home contests, playing 13 of their final 21 games following the Rodeo Road Trip at home and 16 inside the state of Texas.
The Silver and Black will play 10 consecutive home games from Jan. 13 through Feb. 3, which will mark the longest home stand of the season and will tie for the second longest in franchise history (11-game home stand in 2007-08, 10-game in 2005-06).
This year’s Rodeo Road Trip will be a nine-game journey covering 6,493 miles over the course of 23 days. The Rampage will take on six different opponents on the annual excursion, including Texas, Chicago, Rockford, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids and Manitoba.
