The Colorado Avalanche will be nationally televised in the U.S. nine times this season, according to NBC Sports Group’s 2016-17 broadcast schedule, which was announced Thursday.

The Avs will begin their national slate on Wednesday, Dec. 14, as they take on the Philadelphia Flyers at 8 p.m. MT at Pepsi Center.

Colorado will play the Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks twice each on NBCSN broadcasts. Other nationally televised games for the Avs include contests against the Western Conference Champion San Jose Sharks, the Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings.

Two of the Avalanche’s contests will be Wednesday Nightcap matches, following NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Rivalry broadcasts, and Colorado will also have three games on the network in the month of February.

NBC Sports Group will air 106 regular-season games this year (14 on NBC and 92 on NBCSN), including an opening night doubleheader, 24 Wednesday Night Rivalry contests, 11 Sunday Night Hockey tilts, six Wednesday Nightcap matches, All-Star Game festivities, the 2017 NHL Centennial Classic, the 2017 NHL Winter Classic and a quadrupleheader on Hockey Day In America.
