Avs agree to terms with Grigorenko

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has agreed to terms with restricted free-agent forward Mikhail Grigorenko on a one-year contract for the 2016-17 season.
Grigorenko, 22, appeared in 74 games for the Avalanche during his first full NHL season in 2015-16, tallying 27 points (6g/21a) and a +2 plus/minus rating. Selected by Buffalo in the first round (12th overall) of the 2012 Entry Draft, Grigorenko was acquired by Colorado on June 26, 2015. He has recorded 41 points (12g/29a) in 142 career NHL games.
A native of Khabarovsk, Russia, Grigorenko won medals for his country at three world junior championships: 2012 (silver), 2013 (bronze) and 2014 (bronze). Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-3, 209-pound center played three seasons for the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL). In his first season with Quebec in 2011-12, Grigorenko was named to the QMJHL First All-Star Team, QMJHL All-Rookie Team and named the Canadian Major Junior Rookie of the Year.
