Sharks acquire defenseman Karl Stollery

San Jose Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Karl Stollery from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Freddie Hamilton.

Stollery, 27, has played in seven NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche, posting four penalty minutes. He was originally signed as a free agent by Colorado on May 2, 2013.

Hamilton has appeared in 11 NHL games with San Jose, all during the 2013-14 season, posting two penalty minutes.
