Salei introduced into IIHF Hall of Fame

During the 2014 World Championship in Minsk, Belarus, several players were introduced into the IIHF Hall of Fame. Ruslan Salei became the first Belarus player, who was honored with this title. Among next introduced members are Russians Vyacheslav Bykov and Andrei Khomutov, Swede Nicklas Lidstrom and Canadians Steve Yzerman and Murray Costello.
Ruslan Salei spent 3 seasons in the Avalanche uniform. After the 2010/11 season he decided to play in KHL for Lokomotiv Jaroslavl. Unfortunately, he was on board during the tragical plane crash on flight from Jaroslavl and passed away.
In his hockey career, he achieved a lot and is supposed to be one of the Belarus’ players ever.
