Sandis Ozolinsh announced his retirement from the game of hockey. He did it so on the National television of Latvia this Tuesday. In the last season, Sandis played for Dinamo Riga, a KHL team. Moreover, Sandis Ozolinsh represented National Team of Latvia on 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Now, it’s time for a change and Ozolinsh decided to move into politics.

Sandis Ozolins is now a retired Latvian ice hockey player a former member of the Colorado Avalanche organization. For this team, he played 5 season. Ozolinsh played in the Avs uniform 333 games and scored 72 goals. In the play-off, Sandis played 82 games with Avalanche and in 1996 he won the Stanley Cup

Sandis is a legend of European ice hockey and he is the best Latvian ice hockey player of all time. In the NHL, he played 875 games, in which he gained 564 points (167 goals, 397 assists). Sandis was drafted as 30th overall by the San Jose Sharks. Except Sharks and Avalanche he played as well for the Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers and Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
