Hunwick Backlash Time

So Matt Hunwick has made the opening night roster. Cue the outcry and rage of 97.8% of Avs fans. (Made up stat but hey it seemed fair enough.)Good news is just because he made it doesn’t mean he plays any games.

Remember when raging about Hunwick to place blame where it truly belongs. We don’t need to see fire Roy tweets just yet. There is no need to call current Avs management stupid for not finding a way to exile him.

Blame the old management who re-signed him. Blame old management who traded for him. Nothing the current management team can really do but try to waive him again. No one is likely to pick him up. The Avs organization doesn’t want to pay him 1.6 million to ride a bus and take ice time from prospects that need it in Lake Erie. So pay him 1.6 to enjoy the press box. He has done it before and kept a great attitude about it.

That is the one good thing about Hunwick he has a great attitude. He knows what people say and just takes it in stride and does the best he can. Too bad such a nice guy just can’t cut it. Now nobody hurt me but he did have some decent flashes of play from time to time. Plus on the Avs current D he really isn’t that bad comparable.

One last note when raging on Hunwick remember to give some of the blame to Ryan Wilson for being made of glass. I love Wilson and he is a beast when healthy. But the man is made of glass lately. If he stayed healthy Matt Hunwick would most likely be enjoy a nice bus ride right now. So hurry up and get well and stay well Wilson. We need you to end this Hunwick time
