Fan Rituals Fan superstitions to help the Avs win

The Pre-season has officially started in the NHL. The regular season is just around the corner. That means it time for players and fans to get back into the regular groove of hockey season.

We all know players can be very superstitious people. So have pre-game and post-game rituals that must be performed. If that don’t do these simple things it can throw off their entire mentality for the game.

But I want to ask other fans what do you do during the season? Sure there is the playoff beard you grow right alongside your favorite team. But sad fact is for us Avs fans it been a couple beardless springs now. So what type of whacky stuff fills the regular season? Do you have any must do for game days? Any superstitions or bad juju you avoid?  I know I have a couple.

I got some whacky things I like to do. I am well aware none of these things really can change the outcome of a game. But I still do them anyways.

I have 8 various Avalanche/Nordiques hats ranging from ball caps to toques. I have a set or rules I follow for season rotation. During the off season I wear whatever I want. Season times it is a lot different. I have the same hate that always starts the season. If the Avs win I wear that hat every day till they lose a game. I then will wear no hats till the next game. If the Avs lose I stop wearing the next hats and so on.

I have a similar rotation with jerseys as well. But I only wear the jerseys for important games. Otherwise I stick to t-shirts for games.

So there you have it. Everyone now knows my weird Avs gear cycle for the season. This will be starting very soon. Any other fans out there have habits they want to share?
