Johnson, Palushaj join Team USA

It looks like it will be all about the Avs at the
World Championship this year. At least on the roster of Team USA. Defenseman Erik Johnson and forward Aaron Palushaj will join team for
the upcoming tournament in Finland/Sweden. It will be a debut for Palushaj
at this international level. For Johnson, it will be second appearance at
the Worlds. He also played at Winter Olympics. In overall 13 games, he
collected three points.
Both players will be joined by Paul Stastny and Matt
Hunwick. Their participation at the tournament was announced in the first
wave of nominations. All four Avalanche players will be coached by their
coaches from Denver – Joe Sacco and Tim Army. There is no doubt that naming Sacco as USA head coach, had an impact on Hunwick
and Palushaj nominations.
The recent nominations also includes Matt Duchene and Ryan O´Reilly, both representing Team Canada. Jan Hejda will play for Czech Republic national team.
There are still some candidates on Avalanche roster, waiting to be called up. Final rosters for the international tournament
will be announced next week and we wll keep you informed.
