Avs Charity Golf Surpasses Million Mark

Avs Charity Golf Surpasses Million MarkAnnual Event Raises $80,000 This Year To Top $1 Million Since Inception.

The Colorado Avalanche Charity Golf Classic, held today at The Ridge at Castle Pines North, raised over $80,000 this year, bringing the total amount raised since its inception to over $1 million dollars in support of children and families in need in Colorado.

This year marked the 15th time that the organization has held the Avalanche Charity Golf Classic. The annual event gives fans and sponsors the unique opportunity to spend a day golfing with an Avalanche personality while raising funds to support youth recreation, health and education programs.  Since arriving in Denver in 1995, the Colorado Avalanche Charity Fund has made donations in excess of $13 million to local charities throughout Colorado.

“Today was yet another wonderful event thanks to all of the participants, sponsors and fans,” said Deb Dowling-Canino, Vice President of Community Relations & Fan Development for Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.  “Everyone had a great time and more importantly supported a terrific cause.  To be able to raise over a million dollars at this event alone is something everyone associated with the tournament is very proud of.”
