Avs beat the Hawks 6-2 to end the streak

The Avs look to try and break the Hawks streak once again. The Avs starters for the night Forwards: Ryan O'Reilly, John Mitchell, Aaron Palushaj; Defense: Ryan O'Byrne, Matt Hunwick; Goalie: Semyon Varlamov.
The Hawks take the lead early with a goal by Toews which comes shortly after killing an early penalty. The Hawks end up in the box again late in the seconds. This time they cannot hold the Avs off as they score to tie it up. Stastny gets the goal with assists from Duchene and Parenteau. The first ends with the game tied 1-1.
Right at the beginning of the second the Avs go on the PK. After they kill of the penalty they begin to get momentum. The Avs take their first lead of the game shortly after with a goal from Duchene. Johnson get the lone assist on the goal in his first game back. Avs strike again to make the score 3-1 with a goal from Mitchell. O’Reilly and Palushaj get the assists on Mitchell’s goal. The Avs get another PP and score right off the faceoff. O’Reilly gets his first goal back with assists from Duchene and Stastny. The Avs get another goal to go up 5-1 with goal by McGinn. Duchene gets the assist for his fourth point of the night and Parenteau for his second point. The Avs take the 5-1 lead into the third.
The Hawks swap goalies to start the third. Crawford is out and Emery is in. The Hawks get a PP but do not score. Just seconds after the PP ends the Hawks do score to make it 5-2 for the Avs. The Avs get their own PP later in the third but do not score. A little bit later a scrum happens between Landy and Emery so the teams go to 4-4. The Avs capitalize on this and score again to go up 6-2. Parenteau gets the goal for his third point of the night. Stastny and Hunwick get the assists on the goal. Stastny is having himself a three point night so far. Which proves to be the final nail in the coffin as the Avs win the game 6-2. The Hawks point streak is over!
