Avs lose to Ducks in OT

Avs lose to Ducks in OTO’Byrne gets two points and too many penalties

The Avs look to rebound from a disappointing lost to the Kings the day before. Starting tonight forwards: Matt Duchene, Jamie McGinn, PA Parenteau; Defense: Ryan O'Byrne, Matt Hunwick; Goalie; JS Giguere. Mark Olver is a healthy scratch tonight along with the always scratched O’Brien.

This time the Avs start off hot on the night by getting an early goal. Cody McLeod gets the goal a tip off Hunwick shot. O’Byrne gets the other assist on the goal. After some back and forth play the Avs get a 4 minute PP. The Avs finally score on the second half of the long PP to go up 2-0. Parenteau gets the goal and is assisted by Barrie and Stastny. Not too long after the Avs go right back on the PP but do not score on that one.  Avs go on another PP with 2 minutes left in the first. The first ends with the Avs up 2-0.

Early in the second the ducks go on their first PP of the game and of course the Avs then get another penalty during it to go down to 5 on 3. The Avs come up big on the PK and kill both off. The Ducks get back in the game with a goal by Perry. The Ducks then go on the PP and score to tie the game up at 2. Right after that the Avs get the lead back with a goal by John Mitchell. Hejduk and O’Byrne get the assists on the goal that makes it 3-2 for the Avs.  The second period ends with the score the same Avs still up by one.

Some back and forth play for most of first half of the third. The Avs get a PP at the 13 minute mark but do not score. Right after that the Ducks then go on their PP and score right off the bat to tie it up. More back and forth play neither team scores heading to overtime.

The Ducks get PP in OT and score to win the game. The Avs lose this one to another costly penalty. It happens but hey they didn’t get shutout so you know yaaaaaa
