David´s column on the last game

David´s column on the last gameA brief recap and a criticism of the Colorado Avalanche game against St. Louis Blues.

If you were thinking about how the Avalanche offensive had improved after 11-goal game, your feelings had to change after last night duel with Blues. It could be new Sacco´s tactics or simply another example of the unstable performances of his team. I want to believe it was his decision to make players more focused on the defensive issues. Five allowed goals of the previous game were too much. But the reality was not good for the Avs after two periods against Blues – 10 shots versus 24 shots of their opponent. Nobody was in hurry, nobody was trying to score, it was looking like they wanted to play in the shootouts. From one look it was like from the early of this season, when the offensive lines were a huge problem for the Avalanche hockey. Last night, one Blues´ goal could decide whole game. I do not believe that Avs could tie it then. It is not right to count on Varlamov every game. Barrie had another strong game along with guys from the checking line.
