O´Reilly suffers minor injury

O´Reilly suffers minor injuryThe former Colorado Avalanche center did not play on Thursday in Russia.

Ryan O´Reilly missed his first game in the KHL since his arrival in December. The member of Metallurg Magnitogorsk did not play on Thursday against Salavat Yulaev Ufa at the home ice. Eurolanche contacted the team and has received the following statement: „He has minor leg or knee injury. He should be back on Monday,“ said our source in Magnitogorsk.

First reports did not say about injury, so then the rumors about possible come back to the Avs had appeared. As we know now, the official reason of O´Reilly´s absence is the minor injury. If it is true, he probably suffered it during the practice. Magnitogorsk played the previous game on 10th January and then had seven-day break due the KHL All-Star Game. Ryan played in that game and nothing indicates he had some problem.

At the other side, some fans posted another rumors. They thought there is a chance the Russian team did not allow Ryan to play because he is going to come back to Denver. Denver Post reported earlier this week there are still talks between O´Reilly´s agent and the Avalanche, and that the Avs are not going to trade him. But for now, we have to believe to the official statement. Hope the rumors are right at this time.

In 10 games, Ryan scored 5 goals and added 5 assists for 10 points.
