Big day for 5 Avs´ players

After the big comeback in the last game, Semyon Varlamov was on the bench during Sunday´s game between his Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Semyon´s teammate in the net, Curtis Sanford, allowed five goals. After the fifth tally, coach sent Varlamov to the action. Varlamov did not obtain a goal. The final score was 1:5. The third Magnitogorsk´s goal was scored by Ryan O´Reilly.

Varlamov saved all four shots in the third period of the previous game and extends the overall number of saved shots on 440. In 14 games, he allowed only 21 goals, what means 95.2 save percentage. GAA is 1.56 and he has got three shutouts. He won 11 of 13 games, when he played for full 60 minutes.

O´Reilly played in his third game in the KHL for Magnitogorsk. He has gained four points for two goals and two assists overall.

The Avalanche defenseman Ryan O´Byrne continues in the great condition in the ECHL for the team Florida Everblades. In spite of the loss 1:2 with Orlando Solar Bears, O´Byrne assisted on the lone goal of his team. Totally, he scored two goals and added seven assists in 12 games.

Matt Duchene played his third and for now the final game in the elite league in Switzerland. It was the first home game for him. His team, HC Ambri-Piotta, was losing 0:3 entering the third period and 2:4 less than four minutes left to the game against EHC Biel, but finally could win 5:4 in the overtime. Duchene scored the third goal of the team and assisted on the second.

In three games, Duchene gained two goals and three assists. There are not planned next games in the league in December. His contract will expire at the end of the month and then it will depend on the length of the lockout, if he stays in Switzerland or comes back to Denver. Finally, Paul Stastny played on Sunday´s night too. His team EHC Red Bull Munich of the elite German league played against Dusseldorfer EG and won 4:1. Stastny had an assist on the first goal of the game. Sum up, he scored seven times and gained eleven assists in twelve games.
