Varlamov seems to be healthy

Varlamov seems to be healthyThe Colorado Avalanche goalie is looking good and healthy after the problems with his knee.

It was quite a shock, when he heard that Semyon Varlamov had suffered the knee injury. Firstly, Varlamov told to www.eurolanche.com he has no problems. He said he cannot tell us, why he does not play. Secondly, after six straight missed games, it was definitely there has to be something more behind the situation. Finally, his KHL team of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl has confirmed to the Eurolanche fan club that Varlamov is injured, but it should be not something serious. Varlamov suffered knee injury, but was practicing with the team.

At the present, the situation looks better. According to published pictures on the Official Colorado Avalanche Message Boards, Varlamov definitely looks to be healthy. He and some of his teammates took a part in the circus for the Russian orphans. Varlamov was wearing the funny costume, jumping and falling around. It looks like that all players and kids had a lot of fun. I am not a doctor, but injured guy cannot do this, I guess.

Anyway, Lokomotiv´s head coach said earlier Varlamov will be ok after the break in the European leagues and the KHL. The break runs now and will finish on the next week. Lokomotiv will play next game on Wednesday 19th December and we could expect Varlamov back in the net again.

With Varlamov on the roster, Lokomotiv won nine straight games. Semyon was in the net for five times in that series. During the game against CSKA Moscow, some of the opponents fall down on Varlamov´s leg and injured him. After this game, Lokomotiv won only two of next six games without Varlamov. The Russian goalie played 12 games in the KHL and won 10 of them. He saved 411 shots, allowed 20 goals; had 95.1 save percentage and 1.63 GAA. He had also three shutouts and is ranked as one of the best goalies in the KHL now.
