The Game

The GameThis is a brief column about the game against New Jersey Devils.

At the end we could be happy for one point. Avalanche players were tired after the previous game which was played less than 24 hours before. The offensive lines were slow and it was very hard for them to do every move. They could do anything for minimizing the pressure of Devils players in the final minutes. Because that I was really surprised by their play in the overtime. We have seen Hejduk in more offensive situations. Unfortunately, he could not score in the biggest chance of the game. He played in the fourth line. Landeskog, Downie and McGinn were our best of the best, but got slow during the game as everyone else. This game was about defensive. Giguere was great; this does not need any comment. Also blue lines were very nice. Johnson took many pucks to the offensive zone, Hunwick and Wilson blocked and tipped shots and passes. It was one of the best defensive games by the Avs this year. This could not work on the ice of Rangers. Colorado has to gain at least one point.
